By-the-Sea Resort Properties, LLC is a hospitality, commercial, and residential ownership company located in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
In 2007, Jesse and his family fell in love with St. Thomas and built their home in The Preserve at Botany Bay, where the potential for a world-class hospitality experience first began to take shape. Inspired by the opportunities he saw, Jesse took action, drawing on his business background to evaluate the viability of a luxury hotel. That early vision became the foundation for The Botany. Jesse's work ethic was shaped on his family's farm and ranch, instilling the determination and discipline that continue to drive his leadership today. With more than 40 years of experience across law, real estate development, venture capital, restaurants, biotech, farming, ranching, and oil and gas, he has built a deep well of practical knowledge and a vast network of industry relationships. He is known as a big picture thinker and a decisive leader who challenges convention and inspires innovation, with a deep appreciation for elevating people and preserving the natural beauty that makes The Botany so extraordinary.
BRYNN BRAUN
DIRECTOR OF DESIGN
With a Bachelor of Architecture in Interior Design from Texas Christian University, Brynn Braun brings nearly a decade of advanced experience in hospitality, residential design, and large-scale hotel development. As the principal creative and technical lead for The Botany—a landmark boutique beachfront hotel in St. Thomas—she oversees the full design process from conceptual storytelling and design direction to FF&E/OS&E specification, procurement, construction coordination, and on-site installation. Recognized for her ability to blend compelling design vision with precise technical execution, Brynn guides a multidisciplinary team while ensuring every detail reinforces a cohesive, place-specific guest experience. Her background includes collaborations with premier hospitality brands such as Hilton, Ritz Carlton, Marriott, Westin, and W Hotels, establishing her as a seasoned leader whose expertise shapes the elevated design standards of By-The-Sea Resort Properties, LLC.

Olivia is a Senior
Interior Designer with extensive expertise in hospitality design and project management. Known for her ability to lead complex projects from concept to completion, she excels at creating innovative, functional, and visually captivating spaces that consistently exceed client expectations.
With a strategic and detail-oriented approach, Olivia ensures seamless project execution while maintaining a strong focus on budget, timelines, sustainability, and operational efficiency.

MORGAN REED
INVESTMENT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Morgan has a strong background in real estate, construction, strategy, and finance, with proven expertise in developing business strategies, managing complex projects, and delivering actionable insights that drive revenue growth and cost efficiency. His experience includes time at global professional services companies specializing in strategy consulting, information technology services, digital transformation, and business operations, further strengthening his ability to solve complex organizational challenges. He has played a significant role in implementing solar initiatives at The Botany, helping advance the hotel's transition to full off-grid status. In his broader responsibilities, Morgan assists in evaluating commercial insurance, infrastructure costs, and operational analysis. He brings a keen eye for detail and consistently applies thoughtful analytical judgment to every aspect of his role, ensuring that decisions are well-informed and aligned with organizational goals. Morgan holds an MBA with concentrations in finance, strategy, and real estate from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and real estate from Texas Christian University.
SYDNEY TODOROVICH
JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
Sydney has been bringing her creative vision and design expertise to life for over three years with us. A proud graduate of the University of North Texas, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design with minors in Ceramics and Home Furnishings Merchandising, graduating Summa Cum Laude as a Distinguished Honors Graduate. Sydney’s design philosophy blends functionality, artistry, and meticulous attention to detail—qualities that help create inviting, memorable spaces across By-The-Sea Resort Properties, LLC properties. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her cats and finding inspiration in the natural world.
KATRIN BRADDELL
HOSPITALITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISOR
Katrin Braddell (Kat) brings over 15 years of experience in hospitality and hotel management. In addition to her work in resort development, Katrin is a licensed real estate professional with RE/MAX USVI Realtor Brokers and the founder of Healthy Vibes VI, LLC, a nutrition and weight-loss coaching business.
Since relocating to the Virgin Islands in 2013, Katrin has combined her expertise in hospitality, real estate, and community engagement to contribute to both business and philanthropic initiatives. She previously served as Development Director for the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI), where she advanced local nonprofit and charitable programs.
GILMARIS JOHNSON
ACCOUNTING
Gilmaris Johnson serves as an Accounting Assistant, supporting the company's financial operations with precision and reliability. She is a wiz with accounting software and Excel, enabling her to streamline processes, maintain accurate records, and deliver timely financial insights. In addition to her accounting responsibilities, Johnson contributes to a wide range of operational needs across the organization. She works closely with contractors by coordinating supplies, addressing logistical requirements, and ensuring smooth day-to-day progress. She is quick to assist with whatever moves the project forward, bringing a proactive mindset and a strong commitment to teamwork in every role she takes on.
